5th Valenzuela Arts Month with a blast!

A 2-day celebration of 5th Valenzuela Arts Month was held on February 23 and 24, 2019 at Valenzuela City People's Park.

It was a blast celebration for Valenzuelanos and non-Valenzuelanos for it had visual arts workshops, on-the-spot poster making contests and an art market!

The visual arts workshop was held at the dressing room of the Amphitheater. The watercolor workshop was given by Mr. Jayvee Araneta; Graphite Workshop by Mr. Vincent Granadil; Acrylic Workshop by Mr. Marvin Cadiente; and finally colored pencil workshop by Mr. Ariel Francisco.

The on-the-spot poster making contest was a whole day activity held at the Ampitheater. The theme was "Nagkakaisang Sining para sa Nagkakaisang Bayan." 

For Kids Section:

1st Place - Carl Ernard Marcos

2nd Place - Chinchin Cita Chavez

3rd Place - Jessica Charmaine Ang

For Adults Section:

1st Place - John Paul Delos Santos

2nd Place - Jamia Mei Tolentino

3rd Place - James Angelo Clifford Jacinto

The 1st placer received 3,000 pesos. While the 2nd placer got 2,000 pesos and 1,000 pesos for the 3rd placer.

The art market was enjoyed by many people! A good number of Valenzuelanos bought different merchandise and artworks from different artists who participated in the art market:

- Choy Art Shop (Melchor Dudos)

- Live Sketch (Vincent Granadil, Rannie Pancito, and Mark James Marañon)

- Paintings by Jhonril Cudillo

- Handcrafted stuffs (Ariel Francisco, Louise Alexandra Frank, Sheirlyn Bayta, Clarisse dela Rosa)

Valenzuelanos loved these calligraphy artworks, keychains, paintings, stickers, donuts, live sketches, handmade stuffs and different items.

The 5th Valenzuela Arts Month was organized as a joint project of GUHIT Pinas Valenzuela Chapter, and the City Government of Valenzuela through the Cultural and Tourism Development Office and Valenzuela City People's Park.
